Look a little closer
A loose bead or opening seam is a visible condition observation. It does not, by itself, explain the cause or establish the best repair. On a historical accessory, an apparently small intervention can also alter evidence of construction and earlier changes.
A note for your design book
Photograph the overall object and the detail without pulling the affected component. Record the date and a plain description of what is visible. For an everyday item, consult an appropriate repair service or the maker; for a collection object, seek conservation advice. Keep an observation separate from a diagnosis so the next person receives a useful, honest account.
